Nuance Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio: Mauve

Hello everyone! In this post I'm going to write about an amazing product again the from Nuance line that can be found at participating CVS stores. It is the Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio. There are four available shades and I purchased the one in Mauve.
It comes in a pretty bulky yet simple packaging with just a clear plastic lid. There is no mini blush brush that comes with it which I think is a shame. So you really have to have your own tools before buying this thing!
In each trio there is a highlighting shade and contour shade and the blush shade depends on which one you purchase.
These trios retail for $13.99 so get yourself a coupon!
Now talking about the actual product itself. All the colors can get kinda powdery when you use your brush on them. Even though it's not loose powder, I made a little mess from fall-out when I used this product. It gets better after use though.
I really liked this little trio though. The highlighting shade is awesome! But honestly, it's the first highlighter that I have ever owned. LESS is more with this highlighter unless you want to look like a Twilight Sparklepire. There is a LOT of shimmer infused into the highlighter and put too much and it WILL show on darker skintones.
The contour shade....I really don't have much use for. I do not contour because I have not found a good technique and this contour color on my skin is not that flattering. It's a neutral brown and against my yellow undertones just looks dreadful..in my opinion and it takes a while to build it up to show on on my skin anyway.
I do love the blush color! It is a pretty deep plum in the pan and shows up as a warm mauve on my skin. At the end of the day though it changes to more a bruise looking color. I may have put too much on one day, but my mother thought my skin was SUPER irritated and it was just the blush ><
All in all, a nice little trio, but I think the Nuance line has a lot better options to try out that this. I think this is a great one stop shop for those whose skin would favor the colors better.

Makeup Goodies! Sonia Kashuk Spring 2012

Hello again! This blog post is going to be about some products I purchased from Sonia Kashuk's Spring 2012 collection.

I purchased three lipsticks and the transparent mattifier primer.
(Apologizes for not including a picture of Roseberry, but I do have a swatch and you will see it in my video that I will upload)

The new lipsticks are apart of the new Satin Luxe Lip Color line which includes 14 shades. The three that I have are Classic Red, a bright bold red shade, Roseberry, a nude pinkberry, and Sugar Plum, a shimmery purple color.
I loved all of these colors. They are very wearable, SUPER moisturizing and great color payoff which last 3 hours on me. There is an SPF of 16 in these lipsticks and the packaging is very modern and slick black with the color blocks on the bottom so the consumer can know what color they are buying.
I think most people will not go wrong in trying this lipsticks out.
Draw-back is that there are found only at Target and they retail for $9.99 or more depending on where you live.

The next thing is the new Perfecting Transparent Mattifier. Sonia Kashuk already has a vitamin-enriched primer for $18 or $19 dollars, but at $14.99, I think this is the one to try.

This primer is colorless and great for all skin types. I have oily skin, so I am constantly trying to get my hands on new face primers and I think I have found my go-to primer for a long while. The primer comes with a pump which is AWESOME and mattifies INSTANTLY!
My makeup really and truly lasts ALL day with this only with VERY slight oiliness at the end of the day.
If nothing else from this collection, try and get your hands on this primer, especially if you have EXTREMELY oily skin like me. This is a God-send especially since summer is upon us and pretty much here in the south =/

Nail Color of the Week: China Glaze & Julep

Hello everyone!
This weeks nail color is a classic combo featuring polka dots!
I achieved this nail design starting with a base color of China Glaze's Foie Gras from the Hunger Games Capitol Colors collection and Julep's Penelope.
Foie Gras is in my opinion a very nice dark taupe color which is beautiful on it own and Penelope is the nicest muted pastel pink that I have seen in a while.
I know it's springtime and everyone's into all the bright colors. I got a little tired of seeing them and went back to dark colors =]
I did keep it kinda girly and nice with the pink polka dots.

Nuance Perfect Lips Lip Quad: COOL

So in this blog post, I will talk about the Cool version of the Nuance Perfect Lips Quad. This can be found in participating CVS stores. I had to look around before I found a CVS near me that sold Nuance cosmetics. Most will sell the skin and haircare but not the cosmetics :/

Anyway, just like the Warm quad, Cool comes with four colors for $9.99 retail price. The colors are Merlot, Pink Berry, Sheer Ice, and Rose Shimmer.

Merlot has to be my favorite, it looks VERY deep plum purple in the pan, and it is deep on the lips, but after being the lips, it becomes a very wearable muted plum. No shimmers what-so-ever, LOVE!
Pink Berry is a creamy pink, great for everyday and not a loud color on the lips at all, at least on my lips. This color is not shimmery or glittery at all.
Sheer Ice is, on my lips, like a nice clear gloss. I think I will put it over a lipstick I want to jazz up for the day. It has a nice shimmer to it, but not overbearing. In the sunlight it does have a SLIGHT yellow undertone to it, but fades in other lights.
Lastly, Rose Shimmer which is the lightest shimmery pink color. I think this would look nice over a pinky lipstick. I haven't tried it out, but on the swatch is has a decent amount of shimmer =]
Overall, I think I will use 3 of the 4, excluding Sheer Ice, but all the colors are pigmented and their lasting ability OMG, LOVE!
If you can, check these quads out! Four for the price of one!

Nuance Perfect Lips Lip Quad: WARM

Hello everyone! Today I want to show you the Salma Hayek Nuance Lip Quad in Warm. There are two Lip Quads available a warm and cool quad. I purchased both, but in this post, I am just going to write about one =]
These quads were $9.99 each and you get four colors in each. I think that this is a good deal since just one of the Nuance lipsticks are that same amount. And I purchased this from CVS, but only certain CVS stores carry the Nuance line.

The packaging is very cute. It's solid black and made of plastic. It looks like a rose bud and each petal reveals a different color, so if you need too, you can just open the color that you need at the moment. In the middle of the bud, there is a little lip brush to help apply the color. I have not used a lip brush before this quad, but I think it works very well for me. If you have your own brush, I don't think it would be a problem for you to use it with this product.

The four colors in the warm quad are Red Hot, which is a glossy red color, Mauve berry, a nude pinky mauve on me, Sheer Champagne, a glossy cream color, and Plum Shimmer, which is a glossy plum shimmery color.
The colors are VERY creamy! I love this palette and all the colors are very wearable for day even Red Hot which is not as bright in the pan as it is on the lips.
